ITSSRC Research Methods / Process
The main purpose of ITSSRC to conduct research is to explore, describe or explain.
Explore - ITSSRC conducts exploratory research, when there is need to explore a particularly new topic, new interest or the subject of the study is relatively new. The outcome of this research helps improve better understanding, explains feasibility of carrying that task / activities and answers where and how it can be deployed.
Describe - ITSSRC conducts descriptive study to describe situations and events. In this case real-time events and activities are observed and described. We use qualitative research method particularly for describing events. This descriptive research does not limit itself to merely descriptive purpose, but goes on to examine why the observed patterns exist and what they imply.
Explain - ITSSRC conducts explanatory research to explain the occurrence of event, situation or activity. In descriptive research questions like what, when and how are described. On the contrary, in explanatory research questions like why are answered.
We conduct both qualitative research and quantitative research, and in some situations like case research we use combination of both quantitative and qualitative research. ITSSRC uses seven phases in its research.
